The Port Isabel-San Benito Navigation District is one of 12 deep water ports in Texas with a project depth of 36' and as such is a not just home to light industry but can also support a wide variety of oil industry infrastructure and equipment. Pictured left is a 90 ton crane dockside. Below is a gas production platform joining the growing collection nearshore South Padre Island.
The Gulf Intracoastal Water way serves Port Isabel and the Rio Grande Valley as 2,000,000 tons a year is safely shipped to destinations.  |
